Older parents still towing?

Take away the stress of servicing their van.

When you were young you may have thought your parents were invincible, they could do anything and the thought of them growing old did not even enter your head. But fast forward 40 or 50 years and the first thought is not are they old because even the fittest 70+ person is older than you are right now, but the fact that you have started to worry about what they do and how safe and capable they are at doing said things. Climbing ladders, lifting heavy boxes or doing the service on their caravan. All of these things can leave you awake at night wondering. It is not always the safety to the van that you worry about, but the capability physically of them completing it with energy and light to spare.

PC Mobile caravan servicing can reduce and even eliminate the stress and worry you and your parents may be experiencing. Book your parents caravan in for it’s annual service and I will do the rest.

Check, check, check.

Have you missed anything?

Keep checking your tyres.

It has been an odd year for caravanning folk, first not being able to get away, then getting away from July, with restrictions in place. Some vans will have been sitting for far longer than expected, having missed Easter and other planned holidays. This may have had a detrimental effect on the main components of your caravan, the TYRES.

Here are some basic things to check.

Cracking on the walls
The tyre pressure
Tread depth across the middle third of the tyre
The date stamp.

All of these can give you an indication of the health of your tyre. They may need to be changed earlier than expected. It is better to have peace of mind than have all sorts of worries running through your mind.
That is where I come in, one of the things that I will check as part of your #caravanservice is the health of your TYRES. Not only that but your break shoes too. In fact with a #caravanservice I will get to see other things that may need rectifying, even if they are not part of the service.

Reasons to have a service 1,2,3.

There are many reasons why you have your van serviced on a regular basis, here I will look at three of them.

Reason #1. Peace of mind.

There are two types of caravan owner, the die hard out in all weathers, including snow, like my out-laws! or those that put their beloved van to bed for the winter. What ever camp you sit in, having an annual service, and knowing what to look out for can really help. Having an annual service gives you the confidence that it will tow well, get you to your destination safely, but also give you peace of mind. Knowing that even though the tyres on say, your newly purchased van are in age date, but actually need replacing due to cracking or perished walls, will save you 2 hours + at the side of a motorway and help maintain an appropriate blood pressure level!

Reason #2. Great selling point

When purchasing a new to you van, having a service history is a bonus that might just make you journey that little bit further to see it. Having been on many a long and exhausting hunt for a caravan in the past, and seen some amazing and not so amazing vans (I mean I would not put chickens in them), a full folder of paperwork including the servicing, is an essential key. Likewise when you are selling your precious caravan, and getting ready for your new love, service history as part of you sales patter is up the top of important requirements. The result of this is that it can add on £££ to your sale or at least easier to sell.

Reason #3. Long term money savings.

It can be easy to not pay too much attention to what your van is or isn’t doing. When you are leaving on your next expedition, you will check the tyres, break and indicator lights and any other little foibles that you have. So how does an annual service help save you money? As mentioned above it could add a few pounds onto your sale price, thus reducing the amount you have to find for your following purchase. Insurance companies like the fact you have service history, it shows you take care of your caravan. This can impact, along with other things, on the cost of your insurance. Also up there in the money saving camp is catching a problem early and other possible problems that you van is hiding from you.

About me.

Having spent many years in the print industry, I decided I needed a change and spent 3 and a half years studying the knowledge to get my green badge as a London Black Cabbie. We moved up to Suffolk a number of years ago and have been commuting to London during the week to ply my trade. Now with so many changes happening, I have made another bold move and PC Mobile Caravan Servicing has been born. Completing my training with MCEA (Mobile caravan engineer association – a network of independant, mobile and fixed site caravan and motor caravan service engineers) and with many years of expertise under my belt I am ready to rock and roll.
